Paying Fines and Bonding Procedures
* Cash Bonds - Cash Bonds can be done by family or friends who have the ability to supply the total amount of a particular inmates bond. This can be done by cash, money order or cashier’s check. Cash accepted for bonds shall be the exact amount.
An additional $15.00 fee is required by the state on the first and second bonds posted on an inmate per jailing, with the maximum of $30.00 per jailing. Class “C” bonds DO NOT carry these charges. If applicable the courts will refund any money that was not designated to pay fees or fines accrued from the offense.
* Surety Bonds - Surety Bonds are posted by bonding agencies. Family or friends may deal directly with a bonding agent, then that agency will charge you a fee for them to assume the liability of the defendant to make his or her appearance in the desired court of which the charges are pending. The same state fees still apply when posting a surety bond.
* Paying Fines - Fines may be paid out of the inmate’s money account that was created during the booking process if adequate funds are available. Family or friends may pay fines at the jail window by having the exact cash amount, money order or cashier’s check.
